Here you are with your brand new Mac, happy as can be.

Why wouldn’t you ? it’s beautiful, it’s efficient and no virus to be afraid of.

Happy with a new world of creativity and ease-of-use opening in front of you.

First thing first. A mac is quite like a real office.

1. The Desktop
   It’s what you can see when there’s no software running. You can store there anything, just like on a real desk the stuff you use the most. And you can customise it. (we’ll see that another day.)
2. The Finder
   It’s like opening your storage. When you open it, you can see what you’ve got into your folders.
   A Mac has got some folders already, for your Documents, your music, your films. One tip, follow that way of organizing your stuff, you’ll do your own way when you feel you master your Mac.
   If you make a file slide from a folder to another, you get it moved, not copied. To make it slide, just get your mouse over it, click on, don’t let go until the mouse is on the new folder you wanted, then you can drop it. Drag and Drop. et voilà you did it !

   To delete a file, same thing. the destination will be the trash. Simple as that.

3. Accessories and external hard drive.
   Good to know, when you put a USB key, an ipod etc … before unplug it, you need to eject it symbolically. For that, ditto : you take it to the bin. Don’t worry, the bin become the well know “Eject” symbol from your DVD reader, meaning it won’t delete anything. No more icon of the key or ipod : you can unplug it.
4. The Dock.
   It’s the bar you find with tiny images on. It is like a box with all your most used tools. You can add any software or folder you use daily. Just drag and drop the application icon above it. You have changed your mind ? no problem, just drag the icine out of the dock. You’ll see a tiny cloud and the software isn’t in the dock anymore. it’s still in your Mac, available through the Application folder. You can customize the dock, hide it or get it stretched when you need it.

Last but not least : in case of an accident, anything you’ve done unwillingly, just do Apple-Z. These 2 caps will definitely help you because it undo your last action. So cool when you’ve just erase the photos of your best friend wedding.

You first choose the kind of music you would like to hear, then you can stricten your selection to a style : calm, energic, dark or positiv.
The flow appear on screen, like a mindmap, so you can check what is broadcasted. (one thing i have always regretted with the radio, is that i always miss the name of the artist…)
