There are three types of special right triangles. 30-60-90 triangles have side ratios of. 45-45-90 triangles have side ratios of. Pythagorean triple triangles have integer side lengths and include examples such as (3, 4, 5), (5, 12, 13), and (7, 24, 25).
There are two "special" right triangles that will continually appear throughout your study of mathematics: the 30º-60º-90º triangle and the 45º-45º-90º triangle. The special nature of these triangles is their ability to yield exact answers instead of decimal approximations when dealing with trigonometric functions.
These formulas are given as: Pythagoras Theorem - Formula: (Hypotenuse)2 = (Perpendicular)2 + (Base) Area of a right triangle formula: Area = 1/2 × Base × Height. Perimeter of a right triangle formula = Sum of lengths of 3 sides.
To find the hypotenuse, add the squares of the other sides, then take the square root. To find a shorter side, subtract the squares of the other sides, then take the square root.
The interior angles of a triangle always add up to 180° while the exterior angles of a triangle are equal to the sum of the two interior angles that are not adjacent to it. Another way to calculate the exterior angle of a triangle is to subtract the angle of the vertex of interest from 180°.
Two triangles are similar if they meet one of the following criteria. : Two pairs of corresponding angles are equal. : Three pairs of corresponding sides are proportional.
