The Isley BrothersHarvest For The WorldOne of their socially conscious singles (about world peace), the song was composed by Ernie Isley, who wrote most of the lyrics, together with Marvin Isley and Chris Jasper, with additional lyrics and musical arrangements added by the three original members O'Kelly, Rudolph and Ronald. The song was recorded on the same day as Fight the Power (Part 1 & 2) and was originally intended to go on The Heat Is On (album) as the lead single but Fight The Power ended up being the lead single by a group vote and was saved to go on the harvest for the world LP, and as on many Isley Brothers records, Ronald sang lead on the song while his older brothers O'Kelly and Rudolph usually backed him up.https://lnkd.in/e2n68Xpv

Amen CornerHigh In The SkyThe band, formed in late 1966, was named after The Amen Corner, a weekly disc spin at the Victoria Ballroom (later to become The Scene Club) in Cardiff, Wales, where every Sunday night Dr. Rock would play soul music from the United States.[2][3]Initially they specialised in a blues and jazz-oriented style, but were steered by their record labels towards a more commercial sound. Their first hit was a rendition of "Gin House Blues".[4] Their first singles and album appeared on Decca's subsidiary label, Deram, but they left at the end of 1968 to join Immediate,[5] for which they had a No. 1, "(If Paradise Is) Half as Nice" in early 1969, followed by another Top 5 entry with the Roy Wood composition, "Hello Susie".[1]https://lnkd.in/e8PmWaJB

Feargal SharkeyA Good HeartWritten by then-Lone Justice frontwoman Maria McKee about her relationship with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboard player Benmont Tench and produced by the Eurythmics' David A. Stewart, this was former Undertones singer Feargal Sharkey's third solo single. The song was Sharkey's only number one single and stayed at the top of the UK Singles Chart for two weeks in November 1985.[1] However, it fared less well in the US, peaking at No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100.https://lnkd.in/eHsvrBr7

MORE FLASHBACK TO 1976Bee GeesThe StylisticsCandi StatonRod StewartKC and the Sunshine BandDavid DundasDundas was born in Oxford, the second son of Lawrence Dundas, 3rd Marquess of Zetland, and his wife Penelope Pike. As a younger son of a marquess, he is entitled to the courtesy title 'Lord'. He was educated at Harrow and the Central School of Speech and Drama. While at the Central School, Dundas shared a Camden Town house with actor Vivian MacKerrell and film director Bruce Robinson. The house on Albert Street had been bought by his parents for him to live in, eventually according to Dundas himself "15 people were living there – there were three bedrooms".[citation needed] Those years served as the basis for Robinson's unpublished memoir and the film Withnail & I (1987). Dundas co-wrote the score for the film, considered "one of Britain's biggest cult films"https://lnkd.in/ewiubkiy
